To provide designs for new home and away team changing facilities and gym space.
./With our expertise in sport hospitality and facility design the team were invited to Whitehaven RLFC grounds to provide advice and designs for new changing rooms for both the home and away team.
After meeting with the club’s chairman and club members it was decided that the existing changing facilities would be refurbished to suit the needs of the away team on match days. A new shower room, changing areas and storage spaces were designed in line with the RFL design regulations.
The home team would have new changing facilities located within the new stadium.
The blank canvas provided space for an ALL SINGING, ALL DANCING changing area, where the team would be encouraged to meet and train together within the newly equipped gym and discuss dietary requirements and team strategies within the assessment room. It would also provide space for a physio room for health and well-being.
The ./SSD team discussed the layout requirement of the changing area with the team coach. As part of the training plan players are expected to watch previously played games and analyse techniques. An area was to be provided for this use as well as design elements that met with the design regulations provided by the Rugby Football League.
